Bernice, Emotional Support Officer
Bernice, a Fox Red Labrador, certified ginger ninja and stone-cold eating machine, is the resident ESO here at BGA. She takes her role as Emotional Support Officer seriously, spending her days asleep in the studio, ensuring she is always around for a pat or a cuddle should anyone be dolling them out.
Born and bred by Game Chaser Labradors on the Mid North Coast, Bernice spent her early years living in Barrengarry, overseeing the construction of Kangaroo Valley House, where she’d patiently wait for smoko to begin in the hopes of stealing a sandwich or two off an unsuspecting builder.
In addition to Bernice, she will happily answer to Bernie, Bernsie, Bad Girl Bernsie, Geoff, Jeffery, Little Hefe, Sauce Paws, Saucillia or Saucy Jeff. When she’s not hard at ‘work’ she spends her days at Narrawallee dog beach.

In 2020, after almost two decades in the media industry, Sophie shifted her focus to consulting and various creative projects.
Under the banner of Sophie Lord Studio, this multi-hyphenate undertakes Interior Design projects for BGA (check out Kangaroo Valley House) whilst also working as a photographer, graphic designer and writer. Twist her arm and she’ll also dabble in some creative consulting and public speaking.
Sophie is passionate about sustainability and supporting and shopping locally. When she’s not working you’ll find her down at the beach with Bernice, or painting in her studio.
